The Regional Automated
Information Network (RAIN) was established in 1975 as an
intergovernmental entity formed under O.R.S. 190.010, et seq.
RAIN provided mainframe computer based records management, computer aided
dispatch, jail and corrections management, mobile data computing
and property and evidence management applications for over
twenty law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Oregon until 2004.
RAIN now provides statewide inter-operative criminal justice information
sharing, management and analysis through RAINLINC (RAIN Linked
Information Network Consortium) acting as the COPLINK Node for
the state of Oregon.
